NICEV PRESS

Dr. Karen Wicklund, Editor-in-Chief

Wayne H. Purdin, Copy Editor

WHO WE ARE:

NICEV Press is a new publisher (Dec., 2015) of digital only (paper-free) Ebooks and Audio books on voice/voice pedagogy/health/therapy-habilitation, voice science, dissertations, musician/other biographies and other vocal continuing education topics. Unlike many other voice text publishers, NICEV press is dedicated to rewarding authors with more equitable royalty rates.

WHY WE ARE PAPER-FREE:

-Ebooks are portable and easy to display on your tablet/e-reader on your piano rack or music stand. Tablets also allow for adjustable magnification of the text to enable better legibility of text and/or musical incipits.

-The digital possibilities of color and graphics are almost endless with an ebook. Our texts can display six-plus and beyond color schemes. Six-color printing of hard copies is an extremely expensive process, and standard publishers refer this cost (indirectly) to their authors by keeping 90% or so of their profits.

-Fewer production costs for NICEV Press mean more royalties in the pockets of our authors. Standard author royalties for a hard-copied text are 10% or less. However, dependent on numbers of licensing fees needed for each text, NICEV authors can sometimes earn up to a 40% royalty on each copy of their text. *

-Fewer production costs on our end also mean a slightly higher advertising budget for our texts, which can yield greater book sales.

-At this time we also do not sell to libraries, as NICEV Press prefers to encourage sales to individual purchasers of our texts.

-BOOKS WE HAVE ALREADY PUBLISHED: Wicklund, 2015. Singing Voice Rehabilitation, Second Edition.FOR MORE INFO ON SINGING VOICE REHABILITATION, PLEASE SEE THE HOMEPAGE: www.singershealth.com

-BOOKS WE ARE ABOUT TO PUBLISH:  We’ve had some promising proposals of singers’ biographies and a biographical audio book. Watch our Facebook Page for more news!

TO REQUEST AN AUTHOR'S BOOK PROPOSAL FORM, PLEASE EMAIL Dr. Wicklund at wicklund@singershealth.com
